This policy applies specifically to KJV Pillar. Other apps published by Kindling Apps Limited have their own separate privacy policies.

3. Local Device Storage
KJV Pillar stores the following information locally on your device using standard app local storage:
- Your current verse position (so the app resumes where you left off)
- Which verses, prayers, and graces you have marked as mastered
- Your daily streak count
- Your light or dark mode preference
- Your selected background theme
- Your preferred text-to-speech voice selection
This data is stored exclusively on your device. It is never transmitted to any server, never shared with any third party, and never accessed by Kindling Apps Limited. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.
4. Microphone Permission
KJV Pillar requests access to your device microphone only when you choose to use the optional voice recording feature. The permission is never requested at app launch and is never used passively or in the background.
You may deny microphone access at any time in your device Settings without affecting any other app functionality.
5. Text-to-Speech (TTS)
KJV Pillar uses your device's built-in Text-to-Speech engine to read verses aloud. This is a system-level feature provided by your Android device.
- KJV Pillar does not use any third-party TTS API or cloud service
- No verse text is transmitted to any external server for TTS processing
- All TTS processing happens locally on your device
- The quality and availability of voices depends on your device and installed TTS engine
- KJV Pillar has no control over the data practices of your device's built-in TTS engine — please refer to your device manufacturer's or Google's privacy policy for their TTS engine details
6. Voice Recording Feature
The optional voice recording feature allows you to record yourself reading a verse and play it back. Here is exactly how it works:
- Recording is initiated only when you tap the record button — never automatically
- Audio is captured using your device microphone and stored temporarily in device memory
- If you choose "Save to Library", the recording is saved to your device's local storage only
- If you choose "Download to Phone", the audio file is saved to your device's local storage
- No audio is ever transmitted to any server or external service
- Recordings are associated only with verse IDs — no personal identifiers
- All recordings are permanently deleted when the app is uninstalled
7. Internet Access
KJV Pillar operates fully offline after the initial download and installation. The app makes zero network requests during normal use. It does not connect to any server, API, analytics service, advertising network, or any external system at any time during use.
8. Third-Party Services
KJV Pillar does not integrate any advertising SDKs, analytics platforms, crash reporting services, social media SDKs, cloud storage services, payment processors, or AI APIs.
9. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
KJV Pillar complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and equivalent international regulations.
Because KJV Pillar does not collect any personal information from any user of any age, there are no privacy risks specific to children. The app is safe for use by children of all ages.
KJV Pillar does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (US) or under 16 (EU/UK). If you believe any data has been collected from a child in error, contact us immediately at kindlingapps@proton.me.
10. GDPR — European Users
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA) and United Kingdom, GDPR and UK GDPR apply. Because KJV Pillar processes no personal data, there is no legal basis for data processing to declare, no data retention period to specify, and no data transfers to disclose. The app is fully GDPR compliant by virtue of collecting nothing.
11. New Zealand Privacy Act 2020
Kindling Apps Limited is incorporated in New Zealand and operates under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. As KJV Pillar collects no personal information, the information privacy principles of the Act are satisfied by default.

12. Your Rights
As KJV Pillar holds no personal information about any user, your rights of access, correction, deletion, and objection are satisfied automatically. All data the app stores lives on your own device and can be deleted at any time by uninstalling the app.
13. Changes to This Policy
Any updates will be posted at this URL with a revised version number and date. Given the fully offline, no-data-collection nature of KJV Pillar, changes are unlikely unless new features requiring data collection are added in a future update.
